Go beyond Bali's beach culture and discover the spiritual heart of the Balinese in the central highlands. Take time to pause for thought at Taman Mumbul Sangeh, a serene water temple just a short drive from Ubud and a world off Bali's tourist trail. Learn from Dewi how to create a traditional sacrificial basket that is brought to the water temple. Wear your sacrifice in a traditional sarong in the temple before joining the locals in the daily water purification ritual. After soaking in the sacred spring water pool, return to the temple in ceremonial attire to receive your blessings. Complete this rewarding experience by sharing a simple Balinese lunch with Dewi. Included in the price: Local guide, hotel pickup and drop-off (Ubud area), herbal tea and traditional Balinese cake. All materials required to make a traditional sacrificial basket, Balinese ceremonial clothing to wear during the temple sacrifice, lunch in a Balinese warung (vegetarian dishes available). This 5 hour experience runs daily on request at 10am.
