BOOTCAMP - INTRODUCTION TO GAME DEVELOPMENT

A six-day bootcamp course where you get to learn how to develop games. During these days we go through the different elements needed to create a game. You get to come up with an idea for the game, learn to design it graphically and then realize it. On the sixth day you have a finished demo with a working game. A fun and educational week where you get an insight into the world of game development.

Course content:
Day 1: Creative workshop - Development of ideas.
Day 2: Storytelling - Create concise concept document.
Day 3: Concept art - Development of game graphics (including Blender, Photoshop & Illustrator).
Day 4: Create Game Path - Learn the basics of game programming.
Day 5: Final art - Mockup implementation & Trial game.
Day 6: Possible improvements & finished demo.

The introductory lecture "You Can Code" is based on a three-step model. During a three-hour lecture, students get an anchored picture of tech & programming in real life, apply tech & programming creatively to a real case and get motivation for lifelong learning for future career choices. The purpose is to democratize access to knowledge in tech. This is also part of Sweden's national digitalisation strategy, to increase interest in technical education at universities and colleges.

Course content:
Part 1 (1 hour): An inspirational lecturer from one of the most attractive employers in the world and tells about his journey and how they ended up in tech.
Part 2 (1 hour): What does coding have to do with tech and how is tech & coding applied in different companies
Part 3 (1 hour): Students learn to apply programming in a new and motivating way.

BOOTCAMP - INTRODUCTION TO CODING

"Introduction to coding" gives you an intro to programming and digital creation. This bootcamp course goes through the basics of creating individually and in groups. We learn to give instructions that a computer can understand and in an experience-based way we learn the basics of Scratch and Python. The 6-day course provides an anchored picture of programming in practice, is linked to the curriculum for grades 6–9 and upper secondary schools and also lays a foundation for future prao or internship jobs in tech.

Course content:

Day 1: Introduction & Creativity - Creativity through programming.
Day 2: How to use programming today - Visually witness how calculators, emojis and visual creation are programmed.
Day 3: Code your future - Choose a project or interest to code.
Day 4: Python - Why Python is the primary programming language and how it is used in practice in your default project.
Day 5: Creative through programming - Work in the project group together with group coach.
Day 6: Final presentation of projects to the group and diploma presentation.
